Omm Writer

It’s crazy – who would thought we need another, of all things, Word Processor. But I’m in love. Please novelty, don’t wear off. I think I’m finally inspired to write more than a few paragraphs… Check out OmmWriter Here. (Mac Only so far)

Fastest screen capture and image sharing ever!

It’s not often you come across software that will directly change the way you work. Occasionally there’s a ‘Skitch’. It makes you realise how occasionally technology really can improve your work flow. Through brilliant UI design this app makes the process of capturing an image, editing and posting as easy as poking yourself in the eye (without the regret).

The process:

  1. One click to take a screenshot
  2. Next you can grab a circle, an arrow, text to annotate
  3. Literally grab the corners of the image to resize (!!!)
  4. Then you have the option to save it locally, drag it into another app, or post it to one of many remote options including your own FTP account. Again, one click to send it, one click to copy the link.
All we need now is for Jing and Skitch to tie the knot.

Get more from your Mobile Plan

Mobile Phone Deals Soon, I will no longer have a supplied work mobile so I’ve been doing a load of research into the best mobile plans. There’s so many factors to consider, I just wanted to hear an expert say “just choose this one” – I found it. Taken from: Mobile Choice, Australia. This spreadsheet works really well if your phone habits are consistant. If they are not I recommend a cheap plan like Virgin’s Beancounter plan that is cheap and for low-medium phone users is most often the best plan. The minimum spend works out to be $25 every 45 days or ~$16 month with 10 cent/min calls (25 cent flag fall) and 10 cent/sms.

Super fast new blogging platform enters the scene

The first thing you’ll notice about Tumblr is the super refined, uber-clean interface. It’s like; ‘bells and whistles aside, let’s just deal with Content’. I must admit, it’s easy to get carried away with all the plugins available for Wordpress and lose sight of the ultimate aim.
